Anybody fished Lake Houston for bass lately? My dad is coming for a visit and I don't particularly want to beat my brains in fishing Conroe, so looking for some alternatives in the Houston/Conroe area. Not looking for spots or anything, just general info would be greatly appreciated.

It’s real tough lately with the water muddy cold and low. They are keeping the lake low and they went in and cleared all the wood off the banks. There isn’t much good cover to fish anymore.
I can backlash toilet paper.

Fayette, or Bastrop, I second Chances comments which are 100% accurate.

Ah, thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it. I've never fished Houston before, despite living near it forever. I may try one day just to see what its like. I like Fayette and Bastrop, just don't like driving.
