Any of you guys into the hobby? One of my buddies gave me a tank several months ago and it’s been pretty fun. Already battled ich, and no electricity... I think my dad has some big old aquariums stored somewhere from when he was into it, ready to go big. Here’s my setup for the time being.

Aquariums are great fun. The bigger they are the easier they are to take care of. Lots of fun watching them. Wish I had room for one where I am now,

I’ve had them on and off my whole life. Currently have a 54 gallon bow front corner tank.

I think it’s Dfitz, but one poster has really impressive native setup(s). I really want to get into it and have a setup to observe a largemouth, but I travel toomuch for work to be able to do it right.

Dfitz has an incredible set up.

Tanks are a great hobby. I'm running a small koi pond with some bluegill in it. There is a fair amount of maintenance involved. Totally worth it though.

Oh yes. That used to be one of my big hobbies. I had a native planted 120 gallon tank with bluegill and other critters. Had 40 and 55 gallon takes over the years. I just bought four koi for the pond yesterday.

Those antlers look pretty good in your tank. Are they real antlers, or are they molds?

Also, it looks like you have a few cichlids mixed in there with maybe some guppies? If that is the case, don't let your kids get attached to the guppies.

One of the best aquariums that I have seen on the TFF belongs to Dfitz! He has posted it several times over the years. It is one very nice tank!

Looks good NoconaBrian! Looking forward to your updates. I have a 225gl, 175gl and a 40gl with 2 Baby Alligator Gar that will soon move to the 225.

Also, if you are looking for a particular species, send me a pm, and I'll try to help with locations.

I have a thread in the Perch Section called My 225 that has a bunch of pics.

I've had many in the past, but no big aquariums at this time. I love them.

I have 3 small "Kool-Aid pitcher-sized" jars with Betas, and we're all buddies.

...love aquariums, I wish I was the incredible Mr. Limpet!

I have that same rack in mine! I worked part time at PaveStone on 121 & 360 when I was 14. They had exotics on the land behind there, found many.

They're real, I read to boil them for a little while and clean them up before putting them in so that's what I did, and so far they seem fine, obviously I don't think they'll last a long time in the water, but we're rolling with it. And yes that's whats in there. They'd been getting somewhat along but I went ahead and put the guppies in a different tank for the time being. The cichlids are still small so they're not able to eat them yet.

Man that is a cool setup, I'd like to do something with native fish, I just don't have the room for a big tank like that. One of my buddies has one, it's freaking cool.
