Next month I’ll be around Mt Pleasant and will have a couple of days where I can fish anywhere between there and here (Waco). Other than Fork, what would you recommend?
I was thinking about Sandlin, Pines, Welsh, Palestine... maybe something else. I haven’t fished any of these.
Thanks for your help.

I would sneak to the Wood County lakes and avoid the crowds and catch a ton however you choose to fish.

Help a brother out, even if it is to say one of the places I named is a waste of time. Thanks.

Sandlin has a healthy bass pop right now, i think i would fish there. I dont think it will be too busy compared to fork

Sandlin is a fun lake. There are also plenty of sheltered areas when the wind decides to blow. I would imagine the crowds wouldn't be too bad, especially on week days.

Holbrook for small water. Sandlin for bigger water. There are giants in Sandlin.

I would think if its 2H of March, Sandlin and Cypress Springs would be a lot of fun throwing about any soft plastic you want to throw and a chatterbait. 1H of March, Palestine could be good and fish will be shallow for sure there.

Pines is good as well as any of those lakes. You might think about Lone Star small lake not much traffic and a pretty good fishery.

Yes, a 21 foot ranger so big water, small water, it doesn't matter. I won't have fished in any of these lakes, so if there are dangers to avoid when running, please let me know.

Here's a map of Sandlin someone else posted a while back. I know the lake and this map is accurate. East of the railroad bridge is open. West of the railroad bridge the boat lane is really pretty wide but there are "groves" of trees on either side of the lane. https://goo.gl/maps/YugaodJZKnGas3kQ7Cypress springs is pretty open. When will you be here? P.M. sent.
