take a pr. of water pump pliers and hold the hole saw pilot, make sure the drill is set to drill if it has a clutch type drive, fwd and reverse it while holding the bit. vise works good too.
if that won't do it then just go buy a new dam drill and better hole saw kit, milwaukee for instance.

I had that happen once and tried everything. Had to take it to Texas Tool traders, and they were able to get it to release.

Well, they did make perfect circular holes in the shelving I consider the endeavor a success. I’ve had that cheap drill for over ten years. I do have a nicer Ryobi.

I'm not sure that there is such a thing as a "nicer Ryobi" unless you are using a woodpecker to drill holes.

I'm not sure that there is such a thing as a "nicer Ryobi" unless you are using a woodpecker to drill holes. I helped a friend install a deadbolt a couple weeks ago using a Ryobi cordless drill and a hole saw bit. Everything worked flawlessly.

Alas, there are times with some of these projects that the only good thing to come of it is when it drives you to the bottle. Happy hole sawing.

Life's too short. Throw it in the trash and go buy a new one.
You're going to spend all that time on it and will still have to buy a new one anyway.
