thread on another forum debating why the shortage happened....I checked the zeros shown on BASSTRAK vs. the actual fish weighed in and it appeared there were about 35 fishermen showing zero all day on BASSTRAK but leaderboard only showed 4 fishermen with zeros...this would indicate about 30 fishermen didn't have marshals in the boat to send in their catches....
I wonder how much not having the opportunity to be a marshall for KVD,Hackney,Ike,Wheeler and the other well known pros has affected their ability to attract marshals....

Been short the last couple of years on many lakes. I think also the first 2 days being postponed hurt the marshal supply as many only plan to be there the first 2 days anyway. If you follow that trail much its really a big non story regarding a marshal shortage. If I recall they did not have enough at the FLW on Rayburn either.

Maybe they should give them BASS marshals the black & white pin stripe jerseys adorned with sponsor logo’s to make them feel special like MLF does?

I believe MLF pays their marshals, you pay to be a marshal in the other two series.

Most years I have rode with them in the TTBC or whatever they call it. It’s great to do once in awhile. I wouldn’t want to pay to take a beating like you can on some of the venues. The days I spent with the lesser name guys have been just as enjoyable as the big name guys. Only two over the years I really would not care to ride with again and that’s mostly because they were zoned in on fishing. Close to zero conversation.

They should not charge to be a Marshall. BASS gets benefit of keeping integrity.

They are paid a small amount. Those guys work pretty hard too. They are boat officials plus use their trucks to tow the boats from event to event.

A lot of them were out of cell range. Only a few didn’t have marshals.

Why do you have to participate in these threads ?

I’m quite certain it’s because the BPT guys get 9,000 hours of tv time per season and those refs want to be superstars to the housewives. The poor ol’ BASS marshals don’t get all the fame, like those BPT refs get. Yes sir, those BPT refs get all the girls, make all the money and even get to act like a**holes to the anglers!

I think they should get a penalty in BPT if the fish jumps out of the water. I mean, they get one for dropping the poor things from a foot or higher back into the lake.

[censored] weather, people that have to work Monday instead of being a Marshall because the first two days got postponed are the main factors, plus locals knew the fishing would be tough. They had plenty of places that didnt have all the Marshall's before those guys left. Just part of it
