Lot of hard work by those kids. Teaches them responsibility as such they bust their butts to get to that stage.

the kids don't get all the money only a percentage.

I know in KS they keep them in air conditioned rooms and control the lighting to help with the coat.

Lot of hard work by those kids. Teaches them responsibility as such My sisters and I showed steers through high school. You are right it is A LOT of work. My senior year I had 5 steers. Wake up, go take care of steers, go to school, go check on steers, go to work for 3 to 4 hours, go take care of steers, go home for supper and any homework, go to bed. Repeat the next day. It is a lot more than just throwing feed in front of them if you are doing it right. At least 3 of the 5 were washed, brushed out, blown dry and combed everyday. A lot of days it was all 5. I would not trade it for anything though. I couldn't believe it when I heard a Hereford was overall Grand Champion. First time since 1982. The overall Reserve Grand Champion was a Hereford as well.

Kids get all the money from the Fort Worth show. The other major shows in Texas do take a percentage.

those 2 kids are gonna go far.
