Great day today I got lucky and found the white bass stacked up and biting today. I caught and released a limit of 25 this evening. All in one spot.

Anyone know if anybody getting white bass in the lake ? I went in a boat last sunday. Whites were still deep. Found a group on a point and caught a few trolling a crankbait.

I went back and fished the same spot from 6:30 to 8 AM this morning and only caught 2. I tried a couple more spots with no luck. I hope to give it a try this evening again. Hope I get lucky again.

I've definitely had worse days, greenyak. Thanks for the report! Hopefully the rain this week will get the fish moving up the creek.

I'm trying to practice some real patience under these conditions. I went back to the spot where I caught a limit yesterday evening. I really wanted to understand if the fish had moved or if it was a timing thing. I fished that spot for about 2.5 hours, 3PM to 5:30 PM and only caught one white bass. That proved it for me. At least I'll never waste more than 45 minutes again I started at Newman bridge around 8 AM this morning. I worked my way down to the curve at the low water crossing. Once again, really being patience, using both spinning gear and the fly rod. I only caught small bluegill. I decided to leave and head to a spot upstream. Bingo It was a day worth 2 dancing bananas I caught 13 white bass in my first 15 casts with the magical clouser. It was crazy good at first and then it slowed down. Once again, patience paid off though as I located where they were stacked up and had to wait close to 10 seconds at times for the fly to reach them and get a strike. I ended up catching 43 in about 2 hours and 15 minutes. I strung up a few.

J-Moe - Did you catch all with spinning gear? Any using Fly rod? Since lots of tree, shrubs, etc on bank, did you "pitch" or "wrist" versus typical "Fly Fishing"?

I caught all of them with a fly rod and light, size 8, grey white clouser. I don't carry a spinning rod very often. Roll casting is done the majority of the time.

Nice, J-Moe! It seems you're the only one catching double digits right now.
