What weight of sinker or jig do you use when flipping timber and brush in 1 to 8 feet of water and 9 to 15 feet of water? I used to go as light as possible but find I'm more accurate with heavier weights.

brush, I use 1/2oz. to get to the base. timber depends where they are positioned.

A good rule of thumb is 3/8 for shallow and 1/2 or 3/4 for 9-15 feet. Go up 1/8 oz if the wind is blowing for better accuracy & control

Jig 1/2 oz most of the time. 5/16 if I need it to be a little lighter. Flipping a soft plastic, 1/4 to 5/16 most, 3/8 for deeper water,

I normally flip a 3/8 oz jig shallow, a a 5/8 oz jig medium depth and a 3/4 for deeper or heavier stuff. Hope this helps. Tight lines keep safe and good luck.

Pitching most of the time I use a 3/8 jig.
Skipping docks most of the time I will use a 1/2 oz. jig.
Fishing deep water I throw a 3/4 oz. jig, or trying for a reaction bite because of the fast fall rate.

Tx. rig I mostly use a 1/4 or 3/8 depending on the type of bait that I choose for the Tx. rig. For a baby brush hog and speed craw, I use a 3/16 weight.
