I am curious if anyone sells a quality boat lane chip for Lake Fork that will work on Garmin Echomap Ultra units. I am getting ready to change to boat over from Lowrance to Garmin and would like a chip. I am planning to come to Fork this year and have never been so feel like I need a chip of some sort.
I have read here Lance Vick makes a good one for Lowrance and Hummingbird but it does not seem like he has one for Garmin.
Thanks

You can migrate and convert when you pull all your data down. Vick's chips are available in Garmin's format now, I just think you have to buy that version online.

Thanks. I appreciate the help but I must be missing something. I don’t see mention of a Garmin version and when I click “contact us” it says URL not found.
Are they still in business?

I texted them about 2 months ago to see if they had a version for Garmin yet. I was told they don't have it. I think they are working on it though.
I have the Lowrance version from probably 15 years ago and would like to figure out how to convert it and get it on a micro sd but not sure it that's possible.

I have the Lowrance version from probably 15 years ago and would like to figure out how to convert it and get it on a micro sd but not sure it that's possible. The Conversion requires GPS Babel... You'll want to download your Waypoints, Routes, and Trails data from your Lowrance Box. Copy the file to your computer. Run the comparison and copy the file back to a microSD. It is a little bit of work, but if you need it, worth it. There was a thread on here some time ago, I just found, where they talked about a compatibility issue and work-around for converting to Garmin. https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/12758984/3This page has the contact information for the Garmin Version.

Thanks for the info, David. That’s the thread I saw and used to text Lori. She told me they didn’t have it yet. I put her response to me below from last Oct. If they have it, I’ll sure buy it. I think I saw somewhere on here someone else had a garmin version but I think it was around $50. I may look into the GPS Babel and try the conversion. I’ll see if I can work through it and let everyone know if I get it to work. May try it Sunday since it will be raining. Thanks!
Hi. We do not currently sell a Garmin version. We truly appreciate you! We are working on it but no luck so far. So sorry

David.... Since I don’t have anything on Fork I am understanding you to say that I would need to:
Buy a Lowrance chip Put that into a Lowrance unit Then export waypoints, routes and trails from the Lowrance unit to an SD card Take that Sd card to a computer and using the GPS Babel convert those points and trails to Garmin format Copy that converted format file back to an SD card and download to the Garmin unit.
Do I understand correctly.
If so It seems like I need to do a couple things.
Buy the Lowrance card before I trade in those units and download it. Then export it back out. Buy GPS babble.
Thanks everyone for all the help

NO. Lowrance & Humminbird Boatlane tracks will not convert properly to Garmin tracks. Garmin unit software does not support tracks with track segments. Garmin, even Homeport, will incorrectly connect all track segment end-points.
Please call Garmin Support cause the more pressure the more likely Garmin will fix this bug.

I sent them an email and they told me the two apps that will allow waypoint conversion, email them and just tell them what you need to do. they were very helpful and had no problem with what I wanted to do. can't find the email now tho. I would suggest checking with lance so you don't violate any copyright and as a courtesy, you can msg him on fb.
