Long time lurker first time poster. Noticed over on FB it was posted that Newman’s bottom parking area will be opening tomorrow at 8am. Never been there myself but plan on going soon!

Nails Creek State Park has cleaning station but NO electricity (due to numerous floods). Birch Creek probably same. Suggest calling Birch Creek Park office for definite answer.

No reports? Either people are striking out or catching limits.

No reports? Either people are striking out or catching limits. Striking out my friend. I went to Newman Bottom for the first time this year on Sunday. I went upstream and only caught 2 white bass. I caught 6 undersized crappie and a ton of bluegill. Most people I've talked to or heard reports from only caught one or two when they went. Another friend said he caught 12 the day before but he's out there from pre-dawn to post-dusk. I'll probably head downstream below the low water crossing next time I go; Unless I see some spawning activity. I didn't see any spawning activity on Sunday.

I'll be headed out in the morning by boat, up the creek. Thinking I may bring some live bait with me. I'll post the report Monday morning when I get back to the office. If you see me, hollar, you can't miss me 1954 Excel F4.
