I believe the "n" stands for networkable; as with a ipilot trolling motor (for example)

The only G3 models are the non-networkable (stand alone) Helix 7's.

All models with N are networkable via Ethernet.

Humminbird Helix 12 CHIRP SI, Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N, 1198c SI, Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2,
Helix 7 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G3, Helix 10 MEGA DI+ GPS G3N, SOLIX 12 SI, 360, MEGA 360, RC-1

What exactly does networkable mean? Other than it has Bluetooth I’m assuming

Ethernet networking is connecting devices together to share data via an Ethernet cable.

The units do not communicate with each other via Bluetooth. The ones with Bluetooth can link to smartphones and tablets to load data.

Oh ok gotcha. Doesn’t really seem necessary to spend an extra 2-300 for that
