Thanks guys. I consider late October-end of February to be the "Real" crappie season. They bunch up in deep water structure and cover, and others migrate up the creeks in prodigious numbers, and its a blast to walk wilderness trails and nail em on a jig and bobber! To me the "season" ends in February because by then the Black Bass are getting frisky and staging by feeding voraciously before the spawn, and the sandbass are migrating by the thousands up the same creeks the crappie spent the winter in. Gotta love it!

that's great news! Helmet is about to crank up as well. Was looking at last yr's pics and had some hefty white crappie come out of Helmet AND Bachman in mid and late Feb. Let's do it!
