Wanted to share a recent trip to Falcon Lake with some fellow TFF'rs. This has always been a Bass trip, but this year I brought down my Carp gear. Conditions were tough for Bass, low water, pre spawn, no brush, suspended fish... So I spent the last day and a half on the bank w Tommar catching Commons, Grass, Channels and Bluecat. Duck Hunter got in on the action as well. Biggest Common was 14lb, 4 other fish went 13lb and change, overall the average Common was on the sm/med side, but they were very strong and fought above their weight. Some of the fish were pretty interesting looking too. Also ended up with 4 Grass Carp, with one being one of the prettiest fish I have caught. No Buffalo, spoke with locals back at motel and they said Buffalo were not in the Lake? This was fun fishing and would certainly do it again down there.
