i shot about a 50-60 lb pig last week and the bullet went through its head and killed a 10 lb piglet. i flattened it and rubbed it with Zach's. put it on the smoker for 5 hrs, then the cooker for another 1-1/2 hr to finish it off. had the fire pit going and sipping on some Buffalo Trace(my new favorite bourbon). a fine time was passed. had a little back strap and eggs this morning. not too bad. Soon as I get a couple little one I will do this too.

Luke 6:22-23

22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you, insult you,
and slander your name as evil
because of the Son of Man.

23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy. Take note—your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.

Your setup looks interesting. Offset connected to some kind of cabinet or fridge? Do you build the fire in the offset? Blow hot air & smoke into the cabinet? Is there some kind of thermostat that turns the air on/off to keep temps constant in the cabinet?

I have one of those Heating Cabinets..maybe a little bigger...I wanted to make what he has but I haven't got around to it. Mine heats up to 150-155* which is too cool to cook anything. It has sockets inside for standard light bulbs, has no racks in it.It needs some modification on the inside to do so. It's on wheels and made of SS. Yours for $150. PM if interested.

i put a 110v oven heat element in the cabinet and a thermostat for heat. it'll get to about 200 and i use my old smoker for smoke. just a little wood fire in the smoker and a dryer vent hose connected to the cabinet. some times if the meat stalls and wont get to internal temp, i have to stoke the smoker and finish in there. thinking about either a 220v element or two 110v's. i really enjoy playing with the thing even if it's a PITA.

I was thinking about putting an element in mine or a small propane burner to get it hot. As for smoke..I could use my WEDGE or the TUBE to fill up with wood pellets. Mine has a built in heater in it.BTW... Didn't mean hijack your thread !! Was yours already built with the rack setup?

yes.i think it was an airline server or a hospital server. a friend started it and kind of enlisted my help to get it finished. he had the stack and damper put in the roof. i put the side pipe, lower vent and element in it. i don't think the insulation was designed for higher temps, so, i may have to change it out in a year or so. it's a work in constant progress, but like i said above, it's fun to play with.
