Took the kayak out again Sunday from Grelle Park. Only spent 2 hours on the water but caught 4 white bass and 2 hybrids. 2 white bass were up shallow near the park and the others were closer to the mouth of the creek. All of them were in the channel. Used Blakemore 1/4 oz. Road Runner Marabou jigs (red head with white body). At least one other fisherman also caught white bass and hybrids on Sunday according to the park attendant. Was a beautiful day to be on the water.

Sunday was better than Saturday. I went out to Travis Saturday morning. It was 31 degrees at 7:30 am. Pretty chilly.

Very true Jerry. We were planning on going Saturday but when I got up and found ice on my kayak I opted to relax and go out Sunday instead. Did you guys do any good on Saturday?

Not much. I was drifting for cats. Didn't have good bait. Hard to catch shad when it's that cold. Water temp at the ramp was 44. 58 out in the main lake.

Yeah this weather has really been hard to get a handle on so far. I am thinking about taking the kayaks out on the Pedernales this evening before the front comes in if work doesn't get in my way.

Be careful. The front is ahead of schedule and is already coming into Burnet.

Jerry - you were right about the front coming in early but still got some fishing in. Drifted across the mouth of Lick Creek and caught 6 small LMB and one 6lber on Texas rigged black/blue creatures. Also caught one channel cat as a bonus.
