Buy the ss cover and bolt it on if you have enough scarf left.

Don't put a skeg guard on your lower unit. It did what it was designed to do... Absorb the impact and dissipate the blunt force to keep a catastrophic failure from occurring... The manufacturers make them out of aluminum for a reason...
And depending on how much damage was done you may want to get a whole new case. Welding a new skeg on a high performance rig could be an invitation for desaster... Dan

I bought this one for a Yamaha 250. Been very happy with it. Just make sure you follow the YouTube video instructions when installing.

I have had one of these on for a couple of years. Never a problem Ditto on my old boat for many many years. Put it on a inch low if your in rocks a lot it will save your prop.

The bottom 1.5 inch of mine has been gone for over a year, can't tell the difference.
Never test the depth of the water with both feet.
