Been looking at moving... and one of the things I am seeking is a pond on new space... curious to know how much it cost... to dig one 10ft or so deep about an acre in size...

Too many variables to give cost. Best of luck. It's a fun project.

Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

Soil will play a huge role, you need clay and blue clay is best.

PondBoss.com is a good resource. They can help in every step of the process.

Good luck-
I looked into this last year -
I had three different contractors come out and all three wanted to do way more than I wanted done-
I got the impression they didn’t want to come out for a “small” job-
I was ok for two or three days at $125-$150 an hour-
I wasn’t able to find a guy that this would be enough for a small pond-

Minimum 10k for a small pond with good soil and shallow clay and a good operator. Most likely 15k to 20k though.

I had heard that too but I was unsuccessful in finding a path to find it-
I even studied at the pondboss website-
I also went to my county courthouse where you get a pond permit-
Let’s say I was not successful-
It must have been done more in the past and folks are just remembering the past-I would welcome being wrong though.

Rent a skid steer or excavator and get after it.

Yea. What is the worst thing that can happen? You put a hole in the ground?

Step 1: find an area that has too much dirt.
Step 2: remove the dirt until that area looks like a pond
Step 3: hire an Indian to do a rain dance
