Has it affected those around you?

Grandpa had throat cancer when I was young. got lung cancer later and died.
Sister had unknown cancer. Died 2 weeks after we found out.
Mom had breast cancer, which she beat, but the treatment gave her leukemia. died from an infection.

My mom died of ovarian cancer in 2006.

We were all surprised at the type since she had to have a hysterectomy in her late 40s. Her oncologist told her that in those days the doctors frequently did not remove a woman's ovaries when performing a hysterectomy to "keep her from going into the change of life too soon." But most of them never told their patients. So nobody thought they were there, including all of my mom's doctors for many years.

My little sister is currently fighting Stage 4 lung and colon cancer. Been a rough couple of years but she is a trooper. My MIL died of lung cancer as well. One of Chiefs at work was diagnosed with brain cancer out of the blue just before the holidays.

Thanks, appreciate that. She has taken about all the invasive chemo they can give her. She is now taking oral chemo. She just keeps fighting and trying to enjoy every day.

My mom had breast cancer and beat it. My MIL died several months after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Friend of mine died of pancreatic cancer. Cancer truly sux. I have had my brushes with skin cancer as a result of my misspent sunburned youth. 3 patches of squamous cell cancer. All very treatable. I see a dermatologist every 6 months.

Dad died in 2005 at 89 yrs old . Started out lung cancer with 6 months left but at 5 months tumor size of grapefruit developed in his brain . Lost him 1 wk later . All of dads brothers (5) died of cancer and on moms side 4 of her brothers died of cancer . My wife had breast cancer in 2008 but beat it with chemo treatments for 6 months . As of last test she’s cancer free . I’m hoping to live to 100 but that’s a long shot !

Dad died from it
Mother survived after surgery.
Older sister had surgery and survived.
Younger sister was 30 and had it, but didn't survive.
I had surgery for it.
