I have a 2008 Triton TR186 with a Mercury 150 2 stroke. The tilt/trim switch at the bow want working last time I went out. This morning before hooking uo the trailer I discovered the tilt/trim switch at the helm (throttle) isn't working now either. The switch on the outboard works still. Also, the gauge is not working now either.

Since the pump still works it is obviously wiring o a relay. Where is the relay located? Where should I start testing?

Take the cowl off. Usually mounted on the pan in front, are the two trim relays. As your trim on engine works I doubt that the relays are bad. On the drivers side located below the starter you will see blue and green wires that connect to each other and split off in a couple different directions. I would think that one of these connections is loose. If they are all tight then take a test light and ground the test light and put other end into each connection. You should get light to come on on wires coming out of main wire (ECM) wire. If not you have loose wires from front panel and wheel trim (could be behind shift lever). Hard to tell you on this form. Not difficult problem though, Again you most likely have loose wire someplace. Blue wire is for up trim green wire is for down trim. Good luck

Check your ground wires. Often, electrical problems can be attributed to the grounds.
