My academy in college station was running a deal. You could get 30 5" dingers for $2.99. Needless to say I bought 17 bags.

No other soft stick bait matches the action of the original Yamamoto Senko.
However, the Yum Dinger is a great bait. Great deal!

Have any of you noticed a difference between the old Yum dingers and the newer ones? It might just be my imagination but to me the older ones seemed to sink faster than the newer ones. What i mean by older and newer is for a while they were taken off the market and repackaged with a lower quantity per bag but the bag was also cheaper. $2.99 per bag. Do the newer ones sink slower or is it just my imagination?

I have caught more fish on Yum Dingers than I have the Senko. I just let the fish tell me which they like best. I don't just go with all the hype out there about a product.

I have caught more fish on Yum Dingers than I have the Senko. I just let the fish tell me which they like best. I don't just go with all the hype out there about a product. It’s not hype. The Senko is 1-1/2 grams heavier, for the same size. It has more salt and sinks faster. The plastisol used is MUCH softer which generates the shimmy on the fall. The added weight makes it skip much farther under a dock. To me, it’s either a Senko or my homemade version. My homemade version is as close as I’ve found to a store bought Senko. It’s 1/2 gram lighter and a little softer. It’s around 5 cents per bait to make them. I repour senkos a lot too. Making them average out to about 18 cents cents each. Buy in bulk from TW helps costs too.
