Just ordered a 7ft Fitec GS1500 taped net this morning since lake Houston ate my Betts super deep hole cast net.

Thanks guys! I use different ones trying them all out. Just seeing what other anglers use.

I just got my first taped net which is a Betts deep hole net 5/8 inch mesh with 1.4 pounds per radius foot, 7 ft. Been very impressed with the quality of the net. Makes catching bait so much easier.

I have been having trouble with my taped 5/8 net gilling the shad lately so I picked up a cheap Fitec GS1000 - 7' in 3/8 at academy for 50 bucks or so and added strapping tape (8 bucks) and a longer line. Here is a pick on livescope I took on tuesday of it scattering a ball of shad in 42 ft of water. It stayed open well but I wish it was 1.5 lb/ft instead of 1 lb/ft. I may try incorporating some flat lead weights in the tape for the next one to make it sink faster. At any rate, it works well for the price. I am staying away from the expensive ones until I get better at keeping them out of brush.
