We are making our way to Fork(and Texas for that matter) for the first time and looking for some advice. April 12-15.
We are staying on the East side of Carrol Creek where it meets Running Creek and have a dock where we can tie up for the duration.
Looking for any thoughts on the area that time of year. * Stay in that area or load up and move to the opposite end for a day or two? * Is this the better area for bedding, transitioning bass * More stumps here than other areas - The same etc?
Not needing lodging or food etc but certainly looking for any thoughts you may have for a Lake Fork first timer. We will have 3 of us in a boat so while I would like to get a guide one day, not sure it is going to be possible.
Thanks for any ideas or thoughts on anything and will reciprocate if possible.

Holler when it's closer, you should be able to get MUCH better info. Like Sinkey said, it should be pretty wide open by then.

Guides will take 3 in the boat usually. That would definitely be my suggestion. You'll learn more and catch more than trying to figure it out on your own. There will be pre-spawn, spawn, and post-spawn bass at that time, so at some level, you can pick the type of fishing you like best and give it a go. But the lake gets crowded and some bites are better than others, so that's where a guide would help you out..

Find oak ridge marina on the map, go directly across the lake from there and drop your trolling motor. Make long casts with senkos/flukes and keep an eye out for bedders

guides will let you have a follow boat, one with guide and 2 in follow boat, rotate the one with guide.

+1 Guide will charge a fee to have a drag boat but not too bad.

Find oak ridge marina on the map, go directly across the lake from there and drop your trolling motor. Make long casts with senkos/flukes and keep an eye out for bedders Good advice for mid-April. There should be bass in all 3 stages of the spawn at that time. Lots of good guides on the lake. I would start by reaching out to them now and booking your first day here. Learn the pattern, baits, general locations and you should be good. To answer your question about stumps; There are four fiberglass repair shops on the lake so that should tell you something. If you run the main boat lanes from buoy to buoy you will be okay. If you're not sure shut it down & idle. There is some great water in Running Creek & Coffee Creek as well.
