Wow! How time flies. It only seems that it was yesterday when the Trout Stocking Locations were posted by Texas Parks&Wildlife. With only a couple of locations left in February to be stocked here in South Central Texas the season is fast coming to an end for me. I have fished a lot of great stockings the past several weeks. Myself and longtime fishing buddies Rick aka Catyakker, and Steve have fished Blanco State Park (Blanco River), Lyndon B. Johnson State Park (Perdernales River), Palmetto State Park, Garner State Park (Frio River), Lady Bird Park (Live Oak Creek), and Lost Maples State Park . A lot of fighting Rainbow Trout were caught at all of the locations. The stockings were not very crowded during the times I had fished. I had a blast at all of them. It was great seeing again anglers that I have met over the years during the stocking season and exchanging some fish stories. As always the Gold Super Duper Lures along with the Cheese Colored Berkley Power Bait got the job done. I also have had some great tasting Rainbow Trout Dinners. Catching some fighting Rainbow Trout and seeing old friends. It just don't get any better! fish

It's been a great trout stocking year for a fact. And Chuck knows where they all are in the hill country and South Central Texas. Seen some beautiful country and sure appreciate being taken along. fish

It was a great rookie season for me, Besides catching plenty of rainbow trout, I met the gurus of central Texas trout and sunfish fishing! Nice meeting you Chuck and Rick! May your rods stay bent for the upcoming warm water season!

Thanks Bill for the reply. One of the best highlights of the stocking season is meeting new friends and you Sir were one of them! Hope to see you again not only on the trout trail but the sunfish trail as well! hooked We will keep in touch! thumb

Thanks Gitter for the reply! cheers The worst stocking was at Boerne City Park. The best was Llano River in Castell TX. A lot of the trout stocked at Boerne City Park died right after being stocked. There were about 15 people there and no body caught anything. I spent two hours there and did not even get a bite. The water was muddy with no current. The fish I saw looked like they were dying. At Castell the trout were BIG,the water crystal clear, cold temperatures, and no body there. I fished the day after that stocking. overall it was a GREAT season! thumb

Great pictures Chuck. I am glad you had such a great season. I didn't go as much as I normally do this year, but I was able to pick up a few nice ones over the season. I am waiting to see your Rio Grande Cichlid pictures for 2020.
