Looking to take my buddy from out of state fishing this spring. He's from Minnesota, so they only have open water three weeks a year. I was wondering what are three lakes (preferably in the DFW area) that I could take him to where we could catch a good amount of fish. I'm not worried about the size. Thank y'all!

Athens would have been a good lake three years ago to sling around a senko or creature bait and catch 20+ consistently, but not so sure anymore as they seem like they have gotten pretty educated

Gotta add Fayette County to that list. In the last 2 years I think i've only had 2-3 days we did not catch 35+.

I don't have 3 that jump out for great number but do have 2 for sure...Welsh and Davy Crockett. 50 fish days are very common when the conditions are right

Bridgeport should he on the list. In spring, summer and fall you can catch some insane numbers out there.

Squaw creek , the plant is having a late outage that starts at the first part of April like last year . The water will cool down and the numbers of fish will be up.

grapevine would not be a bad dfw choice. largemouth, spots, smallmouth and schooling white bass. could easily have well over 100 per day with a few good ones and the white bass are tasty if you like keeping fish.
