Need some help. I know a lot of guys on here use go pros. On avg how many gigs are used in a 8 hour day? Wondering what size memory card is needed.

when I do 4k its 3hrs filming with a 64GB so I carry 3 128gb cards and like 4 batteries lol

If filming from a boat look into a YOLOtek it plugs in to the rear running light because they will eat up the batteries. As far as gigs just get a couple of the 128 and see how it goes can always get more.

I rarely use mine because it's a pain, and unless you happen to catch footage of a DD, literally nobody wants to watch you fish. When I do use one though, I just put it on loop. It records in 20 minute loops all day. You can leave one card in there, and if anything interesting happens, you just save that loop and move onto the next one. Super easy and uses up a fraction of the card space.

Super easy and uses up a fraction of the card space. Pretty much this. Filming in the max HD setting will eat up battery more quickly. Definitely use the loop feature to save memory. If you think you will need 2-3 memory cards or batteries you better bring 4-5.
