Yes, the mild weather has a lot to do with the burn rate. Mild weather means less electricity needs to be produced so the burn rate is reduced. Power plants fluctuate constantly which will make the discharge water temp fluctuate also. I would disagree about Martin Creek ending operations in 2022. It will eventually but I see a few more years for it.

You can have the power plant lakes.
I look forward to them every year, and come about December im sick of fishing them.

Squaw isn't going anywhere. Still considered the best Power Plant Lake in the Area by most of my clients Think the OP meant that the end is near for coal fired electric generation plants thus coal fired “power plant lakes”. Squaw though is going absolutely ”somewhere”. The life span of a nuclear reactor is very limited and Comanche Creek Nuclear Power Plant has a limited life span. It had an approximate 40yr “life span” when opened. Several years ago repeated application process’s by Luminant to build 3 more reactors on the site( yes, 3 more) were all turned down by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission due to the same tree hugging liberal government that is causing closure of so many coal burning plants.
