So the question is, will they renew the state park lease at Fairfield?

I'm guessing now that they own the land and the lake, they will want to keep the water in the lake.
Maybe they have a solution for the gap in the dam/water level issue at Monti.

If it makes sense, they will do a some sort of feasibility cost analysis. They might put in a natural gas cogeneration station because the electrical grid is already set for it, but from what I have seen it takes years.

Northlake in Irving/Coppell was turned into basically a pond after land developers filled in most of the lake to make room for apartments/condo.

Really hope they open access back to Monti..... But I'm not optimistic, it would be a big shame if they didn't renew the state park lease and they closed down access to Fairfield....

I haven't updated my post from months ago about Monti in a long time but that's because I didn't have any new news other than this sale has been pending for a few months now. I was hopeful this sale would include everything around the lake so we could at least have a discussion about the park and opening it back up but that didn't happen. The sale listed above in the link is only for the Power plant itself and not the lake or the surrounding land, including the park. It was sold to what I would call a remediation company. Who knows what they do with the land when done, but I seriously can't see it becoming an industrial or commercial area which has been their history with similar projects. Luminant still owns the lake and the land including the park itself.

It's currently not listed for sale but will be again at some point. The park, boat ramp, etc are still closed despite me making numerous offers to take over the management of the park itself. There are still some other options in play and I will share any good or bad news on those as we get it.

Anyone put a kayak down at the bridge by the north end? Wonder if they'd arrest you for trespassing. My guess is they certainly could.

Other thing I wonder about Monty is with sand bass coming in from Sandlin will it ever be the same even when reopened? What'll the lake look like in 10 years?

There is another park and ramp. If they could only bypass the plant to get to it... maybe you can still have a discussion with the company that bought the plant to open that ramp.

If you guys will start a fund me account, I'll volunteer! Will report back with pictures from the lake or the jail cell. roflmao

That ramp is no longer usable at the new "full" pool level.
