Late start today and didn't feel like driving far so I went to Palestine, Kickapoo. Water was like glass, beautiful day. Did no good further up the creek and fished my way back to the bridges. Not a bite for hours throwing everything I had. Late in the day caught my first, then a second, then a third. Dry spell for a while and then a fourth as I was paddling in. Nice sized fish for a change. Water temp was 54... looks like the lake has come up at least a foot since I was last there. Very little bait up the creek. Deep cranking the Bandit caught all four in about 6 to 8 feet of water on edge of creek channel/ old bridges.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Not bad! Any fish this time of year is a win in my book.

A little better than you would expect for Kickapoo after the rain we had. A least it was better than I expected. I could see my paddle blade about 10 to 12 inches down. Still a little current coming under the bridge.
