Unlike many current "country" singers she has actually lived her songs. There's a whole bunch of independent artists out there just killing it right now. It's a great scene. I'm glad I'm fortunate enough to know some of them and getting to watch their climb. Nashville has been put on notice. It's been gaining traction over the last 2-3 years. What Jinks did last October with back to back #1 albums. They can't ignore the movement any longer. He's definitely not the only one making noise. Ward Davis has a cult like following. Tyler Childers was also nominated for the same Grammy Tanya won. Whitey Morgan does alot of covers. But does them great. His version of Waiting Around to Die is killer. There's a couple of newer guys with a great throw back to the Hank Sr. sound named Jason James and Joey Allcorn. I actually just heard a single of of Jason James new album due out in February. It's some serious old school country. Another guy from the Carolinas somewhere named Gethen Jenkins. He's honky tonk all the way. Several good songs. My favorite of his is Basket Case. Then there's my pal Dallas Moore. The road warrior. That dude plays 300+ shows a year. His latest album peaked at 17 on the alt country charts. Alot of really good stuff going on right now in country music. That isn't Red Dirt or Nashville. Red Dirt is awesome of course. But Nashville sucks. There's a whole lot more behind the ones I named. You're just not going to find them on most radio stations. Some really good music right here.

Seems like she must have had a terrible attorney. After getting set ablaze you would think they would give her the best face money could buy.

Some of y'all should just stick with pop country since image and looks are your priority. I don't watch music, I listen to it. The content in the songs far outweigh what the person looks like or how old they are. Tanya put out a damn good album. With the help of Shooter and Brandi Carlisle. That's all that matters to me. More importantly. The Grammys did something that the CMA's won't. They recognized that there is country music outside of what Nashville force feeds people. I don't remember all five nominees. Willie , Tyler Childers, and Tanya are all outside of the Nashville norm.

Willie , Tyler Childers, and Tanya are all outside of the Nashville norm. I can't see her face when she sings " Two Sparrows in a Hurricane" because my eyes are filled with tears. The list is short of singers and songs that can do that to me. The music reflects the heart of the singer and that's all that matters to me.
I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed. Conscience never acquits, it either accuses or excuses.
