PURGE old wpts and trails. There is no mention in Gen 1 of 'purge' in its documentation. I had a HDS G1 and wish I had known of purge. If I recall, the steps were to go to FILES, scroll down to Waypoints, Routes, Trails and press MENU. I think the drop down has PURGE. If not, call Lowrance to get the correct key sequence. When a wpt is deleted, it still stays in the unit's memory. It is only useful if you share units and even then, it messes memory. The PURGE function only erases those items which have been deleted. Current wpts, etc., are not affected. You will gain a lot of memory if you can perform this successfully. My HDS was too 'full' for the Purge to work once I found out about it. The unit would work every now and then, mostly nada. Good luck.
