Way to go Matt!!! Gizzards are more structure oriented and hang out close to the bottom. Threadfin are less structure oriented and more pelagic hanging out in any part of the water column. Best way to know exactly what your looking at on your graph is to take graph pics before you drop your net. Before long you’ll be able to ID every species in the lake. Lots of factors go into how your boards pull Matt. I prefer a 2 oz drift weight. Use your trolling motor to get your boards deployed. Use the copilot feature on your trolling motor to keep you pointed towards your target while you get everything out. Takes me 10 minutes to get all my stuff deployed so I start getting everything out 150 yards before my target area. The boat travels approximately 150 yards in 10 minutes going .5 mph. Hope this helps...PM me if you need exact details for deployment

Good job Matt! Planers have lots of variables on how they will pull. Mostly it’s wind that blows one side flat while the other pulls like a demon. Length of line out before attaching planer, amount of weight dragging, etc., will make boards pull different.
I went for a bait run yesterday. I crossed a hump covered In anomalies. It looked like the bottom was covered in 16” sticks on bottom. Curiosity got me and I dropped the taped net. Mistake! Long nose gar by the hundreds! Frigging needle teeth net nightmare! I won’t throw out of curiosity again! Lol! FYI, the gizzards show up on my electronic’s like circles and thread fin show as a school of red glitter. If you see a blob of red circles close to bottom it’s likely gizzards.
