They have three different categories now. Lunker, over 8lbs but less than 10. Elite, over 10lbs but less than 13 lbs. Legend: Over 13lbs. I love the program. I've only been back in Texas for a few months, but already entered an Elite. Great program adding a little fun while helping to make our states fisheries better. Win/win/win.

You guys are being over the top here. This is about gathering data to help the TPWD better manage the fisheries. They send you a small gift package in the mail for the hassle you have to go through to submit information on fish over 8lbs. It's a business exchange. Just about everybody knows a true sharelunker is 13lbs+. The few guys that have tried to argue otherwise have been appropriately beat down for their nonsense. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater though, it's still a great program.

they use to gather the same information by sign up sheets at marines. OakRidge use to have one on their counter to sign up showing your big catch of the day over 7 lbs if I remember right. I think they quit the sign up sheet when the sharelunker started at 8 lbs.

yep, they also ask you to send in 3 scales so they can analyze them.

Yea think they figured out anyone can post they caught a 7lber+ not saying they did but those who didn't have a scale only guessed with the new program there is no doubt how long or how big they now have picture proof.
