I was wondering if anyone would be able to help with an issue. I bought a used HDS 9 Gen 3 from someone on the forum, came with HDI skimmer transducer for TM.

I cannot get a sonar reading. I have ruled out the transducer, I hooked up another unit to transducer and it made clicking sound. Transducer connected to HDS 9 doesn't make clicking sound. Stop Sonar is off.

- I performed Soft and Hard reset which didn't reslove issue

At this point, looks like an internal problem of unit, everthing else works on unit. Anything else I can try? If not, any good electronic repair shops in the DFW area?

Is the" STOP SONAR" button turned off on the Unit?

Guess I’ll take an attempt, but this one does sound interesting. Is your hdi transducer a blue plug connector or a black plug connector? If it’s a blue plug, I’m out of ideas, sure sounds like stop sonar is on; but you said it’s off.

It's a blue plug connector. Stop sonar is definitely off. It shows a white screen with small black dots everywhere and will scroll a little bit, but no actual signal is being sent. Thanks for the ideas though. I guess it must be a complicated issue I'll have to get it serviced for

Have you tried putting it in demo mode just to make sure there is nothing wrong with the screen/display?
