Bought a Lews rod from Walmart about 4 or 5 months ago that snapped on a fish last trip out. Do any of you know if Walmart would replace that without a receipt? Thanks

You broke a rod that you had for 4 months, lost the receipt, and think they owe you a new one? If it was your tackle shop, what would you say? COME ON MAN !! They ain't a charity outfit.

You’re right cause bass fishing rods should only last 4 months especially when you’ve used it less than 10 times. I ain’t asking for a handout I wondering about Warrantee and if they would cover it or if I’d have to go through lews themselves. You don’t even know me or my intentions man so why don’t you just shut your fat mouth. Better off if you aren’t going to be helpful just don’t even comment. Freaking tool.

Your best bet is Lew's. Give them a call before you send it in.

As for the retailer taking it back ...... They have no idea how it was treated or why it is damaged. I wouldn't expect a retailer to replace a rod unless it is a local tackle shop that knows you well.

I'd try taking it back to Wal-Mart before having to ship it back to Lews. If they have the same rod, you can switch them out.

Lew's won't have you ship it back. They'll want a photo of the damage, a photo of the rod chopped in half straight through the serial number. In my case anyways. I had their Walmart rod that eyelets kept shaving my line. That's the process they had me follow, new one arrived in about a week.
