Unless it has been bought by someone else, I don't see this happening.

Until whoever buys it calculates how to turn a profit for only 7 months or so of business out of the year, it will always be a [censored] shoot. But I DID love Bills burgers and fries!

Tough to make it now on Fork in any business. Fork is not what it use to be. Parking lots dont even fill up in the spring anymore. If they did sell and try and make it I will try and help buy stopping in every once in a while. Good Luck to them if this is true.

Used to love going to Rainswood...
Especially the hundreds of Polaroid's of Gant Bass on the wall from over the years
I remember the owner telling me about the tagging system he used and how Fork was in he 80's...Great stories I heard in there
Like everyone said the Burgers were the best!
Simon Peter said to them "I am going fishing" They said "We are going fishing also." -JOHN 21:3

Back in the day it had gas, food, tackle, live bait and rooms. One of the best on the water restaurant views on the lake. Under the right leadership it could make money. Close launch to lots of great water too.

Until whoever buys it calculates how to turn a profit for only 7 months or so of business out of the year, it will always be a [censored] shoot. But I DID love Bills burgers and fries! I tried multiple times to get Bill to turn that beautiful peninsula between his motel & the ramp into an RV park or boat storage. Bill was a good man but less than desirable in the customer relation department. I fished with him many times and knew him better than most. I know Fork ain't what she used to be but it is still very difficult to find boat storage around the lake even with all the new facilities. Also every one of the RV parks are full. If I was going to invest in that property I would stay out of the tackle business and open a really good Mexican food restaurant there. I think that would kill it. Pour some RV pads & run electricity out there and serve Fajitas!

LOL Ken!!! Good idea on the storage...horrible idea on opening a restaurant! Trust me. Hardest industry to survive in that there is. Storage and RV parks = lower overhead and year round customers. Full service restaurants = pain in the arse! Now, a food truck that you could serve food OUT of? With only fajitas or bbq or something of that nature..bingo. Low overhead. No bills when winter gets here so you could shut it down or only operate on weekends. Few or no employees. Bingo!

It would be a shame to waste that lake view by not having a restaurant. Used to have a steady breakfast and lunch crowd between locals and fishermen. How about a nice outside covered deck and allow BYOB? By tackle, I mean basic stuff like terminal tackle and some soft plastics.. That area of the lake is underserved.

Loved the pictures. I was fortunate enough to have 2 pictures on his wall. 1 from the 90’s of a 9lb 14oz when the slot was 21” and 1 from 2001 that went 11lb 10oz. Bill was a good guy when you got to know him. Breakfast and burgers were great.

Fork is fine business wise if you ask me. Nothing has really changed. The biggest problem I see with Fork is nobody wants to put money into what they have to bring in not only fisherman, but family as well. LFM has. But nobody else has. As far as Rainswood goes, I loved that place back in the day. Best burger and fries anywhere! But that side of the lake is dead these days. I dont feel they will pull enough traffic to survive. Thats just my personal opinion.

Back in 90 or 91 I had just ordered a burger and fries for lunch I was looking down at the boat slips and a Ranger pulled up down there and it was pretty dang chilly that day and this guy was not wearing a shirt and we were like dude it is freaking freezing to not be wearing a shirt. This cat proceeded to walk up to the restaurant while putting on a shirt, Anyway it ended up being Randy White from the Cowboys and he walked up to me as they were putting my food down in front of me and he said son if you can eat all that I will pay for it. I glanced up at him and said get your money out. Needless to say I got a free lunch that day. I won't ever forget that day.

great stories. And yes the food was good, but don't use the bathroom unless you buy something or else.
