I switched 5 years ago from Geico to Charter Lakes for my boat insurance (Charter Lakes is an insurance broker). I have a 2012 Seafox Bayboat with an F150 Yamaha. I had some damage to the trailer and boat due to a really narrow storage facility (my fault). I put my first claim in in the July timeframe and they sent me a check for $6000. I not only got the trailer and boat repaired (it looks like new thanks to Northwest Fiberglass) but also added some of my own money to upgrade electronics and get a new Xi5 trolling motor.
This week II got a letter from Charter stating that they wouldn't be renewing my policy, which caused me to panic a bit. I called them yesterday and they told me it had nothing to do with my claim or anything I'd done, just simply the company they had me with had decided to only cover commercial insurance going forward. That being said, they got me with a new company with a great rate, better coverage (they cover towing, engine failure, tournament fee reimbursement, and value my boat at $38k...what I paid for it 7 years ago) They even cover hurricane damage. Hard to believe I can get this great a coverage for $600 a year! Just figured I'd pass it along of you're looking for coverage. (no I don't work for them)

I got that same notice from them last month. $650/year for my 2019 zx 250 is going to $750/yr through another one of their other companies.
