I've been trying to catch on a larger floating version but decided to make another smaller one that sinks with the aid of some lead wire. Looks great with a jerk bait type action in water. Still waiting to land a bass with it. Perch like the trailer though. Getting the spring arsenal ready...

Fished the hour before this last front blew over. Caught a nice catfish on the new jerkbait fly but still waiting on the bass.

I dig it. Seen one kinda similar years ago that used mylar tubing and a closed foam cylinder dremeled to shape. Never tried tying it though but imagine it would be just like a jerk bait kinda like a skitter shad.

Thanks gents. It's actually not that hard to make. Hardest part is getting the material and hook through the tubing in one shot. Still haven't mastered that. I made a couple more wrapped in chenille instead of tubing. Have a room to put a rattle in the bait this way.
