Hit the water Friday afternoon and saw the birds working right by Crappie Island. Stopped and threw in my trolling motor and spot locked very close to all the bird activity and started up my thumper and Bam! First cast and caught a nice hybrid. From there it was a bunch of really nice sized whites and a few more hybrids before I headed back in for the evening. Got up this morning right after the rain came through and started looking for the birds again. Got on em from 8:30-noon. In total we pulled out our clicker and caught 52 hybrids with another 15 white bass with the biggest being 23 inches. Most of them were in the 17-20 inch range all caught in 17-28 feet depth with most fish hanging at 15-19 feet. All fish were caught on 3/8 oz Orange or white round jig heads with a berkley live minnow. Fishing has been on a great pattern!

Update-

Headed out this morning (Sunday -1/19) about 8am and fished til about 11am and then headed back to Dallas. Cold front moved in and a bit colder this morning. Bite was a bit tougher with the North wind but we still managed to catch 15-20 Hybrids and several Whites. All fish were caught in depths of 22-32 ft. Most Hybrids were hugging the bottom. Using White or Orange jig heads with Berkley Live minnow or Live Fire Tiger 4inch. Spot locked due to the strong winds with the thumper going. Very critical to be fishing vertical to have max success. Loons and Birds were also a huge help in finding the fish this weekend. Football Time!! Some pics attached!
