FWIW, I own a house there and will be happy to pay the fees they are proposing if that cleans up the lake.

I hope it works out for you.
I would also like to see Nacona stock it's own fish and not take tax dollars from the rest of Texas. If the lake is owned by the people of the city, they can do as they please. If they can make it profitable, maybe more lakes will do it. In that case, more of my tax dollars can be spent on lakes I care about.

Tournament registration fee is really not out of line. Lake Lavon and Pat Mayse Lake are a couple that have fees and a 'must' registration for tournaments. I believe the fee is in the $30/tournament range and the registration must be submitted with a number of boats, launch ramp, and tournament times. The registration gets reviewed and a letter of approval and a copy of the registration is sent back to the Club and the Tournament Director must have the approved registration document along with the approval letter the day of the tournament.

You are correct about the city owning it. Problem is folks that live on the lake have no say so. So why would anyone in the city care if others have to pay and they don’t. The ones in the city benefit. Ones living out there will be paying for it. Sure you’ll have $5 launch fees but wait and see what happens when they start doing dock inspections. $150 a year plus whatever dock upgrades they’ll be forced to do to meet whatever codes they make. Bottom line this is basically getting nickeled and dime by more taxes. Now if they put in a grandfather clause for the ones already out there then I feel that’s fair.
