I have a minn kota edge 45 on my tracker 175txw. I want to change it out to a terrova 80 24v with ipilot and foot control. Will the mounting footprint be the same as the edge. If not is there any problem with mounting it where the edge is now. My edge is a 45" shaft and I plan to order the terrova in 45".

elkivory, I am told that the footprint is not the same but that the mounting will work fine. I too have the edge and am hoping to go with the terrova.

Bolt pattern is different, I assume because the Edge is a scissor style mount and Terrova is not. You could get an adapter plate so you don't have to drill more holes in your boat.

If memory serves me right, it has to mount further forward than the edge because of how it deploys so at minimum 2 more holes would have to be drilled and the back 2 would be showing. Best thing to do is use the mounting plate.

The mounting holes and location will be different. They do offer several different mounting plates. I just purchased one that was around$200 that allows the unit to slide back 6" from operating position. This pulls the nose of the unit back to help keep from hitting the trailer roller when launching the boat....guess why I bought that mount lol...plus $100 worth of repair parts.

Got Terrova mounted last night. Didn't feel like a bracket would help so mounted on deck where edge was. Reused one hole. Only thing I haven't figured out how I want to do yet is recess for foot control is too small for Terrova foot control. Read a few options guys have done online, would appreciate any ideas.

After searching online came up with solution for recess pan for foot control. Used 2 cedar blocks, painted black attached to pan, then foot control screwed down to them. Looks and works great. Went to Medina yesterday and tested terrova. Love all the features and worked great on my boat. Used remote almost exclusively.
