A lot of NFL people heaped praise on KM prior to last year. McCarthy had lots of praise for him. All people with more pro football knowledge than us on the TFF OT.
There's always the chance though that JJ made this a condition to McCarthy being hired.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

He will calling plays for McCarthy's offense not Garrett's, should be a noticable difference

There's always the chance though that JJ made this a condition to McCarthy being hired. McCarthy said he was considering Kellen as OC even if he took another head coaching job somewhere else

I also bet McCarthy has a short lease on the play calling. If Moore does a few of those end arounds on 4th ans 1 and gets too cute with stuff that McCarthy will step in.

MM will probably coach about like Jimmy did, he would tell Norv Turner when to run and when to pass, then allow the OC to pick the play.
