Figure out what Lake you want to go to and Get a Guide. That would the best way for him to have the most fun.

I would give Jerry Hancock a call! Hancock's Guide Service 214-544-3678 Jerry covers Fork and Lavon. All I can say is that you will not be disappointed, as Jerry is one of the absolute best crappie fisherman and guide in the nation!

I agree with the guide suggestion! I think you will both appreciate just being able to get out and go fish without the added pressure of finding some fish...that way you will get to catch, laugh, carry on, and catchup, while someone else is doing all the captain type stuff. Hey, you can always go fishing on successive days if you want, afterwards. Heck, just pick a lake...give us an idea of the lake you want to fish, and we can give you good suggestions based on actual results. The forum is full of helpful people and there are some outstanding crappie guides on the local lakes!

June is the easiest month of the year to catch crappie on Fork. There will be fish on all the brush piles the state put out as well as under the bridges. Cat fishing will also be easy that time of year if you bait a couple of places with range cubes a week before he gets here you should be able to load the boat with eater size channel cats.
That said if you book a trip with Jerry you know he will catch fish and you wonโt have to clean them
