Curious if anyone knows how the RPM gauge is powered in a 2006 P IV. Yesterday I had no RPM gauge, which has happened before but eventually started working again. Also my A10 panel seemed to be doing some weird stuff for a little bit. I assume the RPM, fuel gauge, trim gauge are somehow fed through the A10 panel, but I could be wrong.
I read somewhere awhile back that when the main circuit panel gets old and corroded it could cause issues, or sometimes the A10 panel needs dried out. Any comments or recommendations would be appreciated, hoping I don't need a whole new A10 panel.

We would visit the Bass Cat Owners Board, at www.BassCat.com, for information like this as we follow it closely and try to give answers most all day long and into nearly 24 hours a day. TFF we seldom visit regularly and just happened to be watching a few topics and saw your post.

The Gauges and A10 are only related in the fuel gauge. We don’t know what gauges you have though other than sharing a ground these are unrelated. BCB does continue to stock the A10 dash panels and they are not too expensive if you do need one and we manage that account on a direct basis.

Check the ground block on the transom for corrosion and see if that is a source of your issue also.

Once your through this we would be better able to serve you through the actual Owner’s Board.

Tach. powered by purple wire off ignition switch.

Try cleaning the tachometer pole contacts on back of RPM gauge by rotating the alternator pole selector rheostat screw several times. Make sure you return it to it's original setting.

I've done this to cure malfunctioning tachometers on several occasions.

Thank you for the diagram and tip T Bird.. Going to try this and also cleaning the terminal grounding block. Seems like anytime I have had an issue it's when the battery compartment was really wet. I will start cleaning / drying and ruling things out.
