ESPN reported it as a mutual parting of ways, which I find really weird. If he tried to resign, they should have rejected it and then fired him.
The longer the league waits to punish Cora, the more I think he gets a lifetime ban.

The longer the league waits to punish Cora, the more I think he gets a lifetime ban. He deserves at least a 5 year ban. Evidence shows he was a active participant as a member of management.

He orchestrated it at two different teams, one of which he was the manager of, and won two World Series while doing it. No sympathy at all for him. Five years would probably effectively a lifetime ban, but I think Manfred wants to set an example.

Didn't someone on here mention the socks would not be touched as they are from boston? I could be mistaken. Sox AND Yanks if memory serves me... Read last night where some in the media are saying it is/was a witch hunt. I do not see how that is when he left a trail of evidence behind him. Manfred is definitely setting a precedent.

Cora should be banned for life IMO he orchestrated this whole system of cheating and with 2 teams.

Dumb response...no one is calling for capital punishment here but this will go down as one of the biggest sports cheating scandals in history and Cora IMO is the #1 culprit. I don't think the Astros management should get lifetime bans from what I have read so far but Cora certainly should.

Pete Rose should be in the HOF ...on stats alone from his 1st half of his career. No brainer when his entire playing career is taken into account.
