DETROIT — Toyota is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles in the U.S. because the fuel pumps can fail and cause engines to stall.

Meh... My 84 Datsun had a fuel pump that would cut off and on, causing the car to die randomly.

It was a fun learning experience and added excitement to the drive... everyone is so wussy these days, they expect the car to not stall out. Where is the adventure in that?

Weak sauce.

Wait a minute, there must be a mistake. Toyota makes a perfect little pickup that never breaks.

I thought Toyota's ran on Angel dust and didn't need a fuel pump?

Impossible, I've been told on here that Toyota's never break.

Fact!

1. They do not run on Angel dust.
2. They do break.

Maybe mine is not really a Toyota and only identifies as a Toyota. How do I check that?

Ephesians 4:4-6 KJV

4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

If we made a separate forum for “vehicle recalls”, it might be the busiest on the TFF. Every manufacturer has recalls, some more than others. The bottom line is overall reliability and, in my opinion, Toyota generally has way above average reliability and above average resale. I’ll stick with my Toyotas and worry about things others than being stranded on the side of the road.
