if you were a professional fisherman and trying to get exposure for yourself and your sponsors, which would you prefer? a tournament trail that gets 850 hours of television exposure and showcases the top 10-12 catching fish for two hours or a trail that might get 35 hours TV time a year and you have to be in top 2-3 to get a few minutes TV exposure...

Well, I know of 2 who tried it the new way and then high tailed it back to the old way, so....grass might not be greener in TV land.

Wow, 2 out of 80. BPT must be a failure. Lol

Oh wait until next year, that number will rise and then the following year it will be 1/3 of the field. Of course, some said that none would ever leave because they were all happy....

Did you happen to see the new rule change that they are having to implement, hoping they can get someone, anyone to actually watch their program? Housewives worldwide unite!

Still don't understand the haters for BPT vs. BASS

The ABA brought us the 3 pt shot, the slam dunk contest, the red, white and blue ball
and launched the careers of Dr. J and the Iceman!

The USFL directly or indirectly brought us Sunday night football, the 2 pt conversion and
gave us the chance to watch Hershel Walker, Reggie White and Jim Kelly play spring football!

The point is that growth is good. Change is good! Ultimately some change sux (Red White and Blue ball)
and some change is greatness (Sunday night football) but change drives innovation which drives growth
which drives more! Which honestly, who doesn't want MORE fishing!

Sure, lol

They had 2 leave this year. They had 2 replace them right away. They have a feeder system now. If anyone else leaves. They will quickly be replaced. No big deal

I agree. Most things periodically go through big shake-ups but eventually level out when everyone gets used to the "new normal," whatever that is.

Swindle on the Bass Live Podcast said he would have lost a lot if he had stayed on BPT. He slipped in there when he was talking about how he missed BASS and wanted to go home and was unhappy. It must have been an awful lot if the $50,000 buyout was a better option. The actual money that comes from fishing is irrelavant to what some of these guys can make in fringe and sponsor dollars. You will see a lot of movement in the future if the sponsors start to dictate (or suggest) what tour they want you to fish.

Hilarious.

I used to fish tournaments in which we took our fish to the scales, but now I just shock them to the surface and then blast their stunned bodies with a 12 gauge instead.
