Made an afternoon trip to put some time on the outboard. Lake appears to be about 2 feet low and exceptionally clear. Water temp at east end of dam was 64º and the mouth of the discharge was 74º. Caught one fish in two hours. Ten to twelve trailers in the Oak Thicket parking lot.

Some had a fat belly this weekend, but weren't close to spawning

Spawning hasn't started yet, but could start in the next few weeks. Fish are bunched up and fat. Shallow spawners will be harassed by the cast netters and could be driven to spawn deeper than normal.
