I usually fish cats on Lake Livingston but would like to start crappie fishing. I live close to the Tiger Ville Park, and I would appreciate any info about crappie fishing in this area. I have a canoe with a outboard and it takes me about 20 min to reach Tigerville Park from my house.

I don't fish that far south, I mainly fish White Rock up in Trinity County. The fish in the creek are about 12 Ft deep, I use white Jigs with a chartreuse tail fish slow in brush, Some times I go to Kickapoo there is a lot of visible cover and more cover under the water, follow the old creek Chanel large brush piles ..You can launch at Broken Arrow or at the Hwy 190 bridge
is a launch.

Thanks, Floorboss, for your reply. I fished this area several years ago, using nightcrawlers and split shots with bobbers. These trips were very productive! Now I would like to find some crappie spots closer to Livingston. I've heard that Cape Royale, Indian Creek, Beacon Bay, and Penwaugh Marinas might have crappie for fishing. I will try to check. Put in at Tigerville, go out west and the coves to the right (north) hold crappie. There are a lot of docks to fish around. Out from the coves (forget their names) are a lot of submerged timber that hold crappie.

Work the bridge at Kickapoo with jigs from October through December. Natural funnel for heading in for the spawn. Same on the way back out.

Thanks a lot, guys, for your replies. Tigerville is a closest point from my house. Probably, I will check this spot next week if weather allows. What baits do you recommend for crappie fishing in winter season. What rigs are better ones for crappie? I am a big fan of a drop shot (Kentucky) rig and use it frequently for whites in spring. Is it OK for crappie if I replace jigs for smaller ones?

There are more trees (a lot) out from Ash Flat Bay than I show marked. Back when I fished that area I didn't mark them for the most part.

I'm new to the Livingston area. Moved to Pointblank a few months ago. I fish off of my jet ski. In fact, I've taken the ski out to the oil rigs in Galveston and Freeport.

My wife and I moved here from Crosby, Texas. There, we fished Lake Houston a lot - and of course off the ski. She will not eat any other fish except Crappie.

I'll be hitting Lake Livingston tomorrow for the first time. Primarily getting to know the lake and search for the elusive Crappie. I appreciate the map, brother.

It is a big mean lake. Be careful on a jet ski. Launch close to your destination. It’ll be rough tomorrow.

I have a video of me fishing for crappie at Sommerville (1st trip and only trip to Sommerville). My tip is to find those piles dropped in by TPWD. There is one that is not at it's drop location, but within 50 ft. Find that, and I"m sure you'll get into them.
