Great post and some solid Fish. As Always AWESOME Job! Great seeing a Fayette Post. Side Note: Steve: Did you fish deeper water for the Bluegills? Also any of the deeper creek channels?

Steve, I was going to go tomorrow but have to change my plans. Im waiting for you to find those blue gill. Haha. Myself and Pete Dodge are going to meet with the fish biologist for Fayette on the 8th to discuss the cast netting issue so Wednesday will be out as well. Im going to ask the biologist if he has any idea what the blue gill winter pattern might be. A couple of days after you helped me catch all those gills by the coal pile before their bite shut off, I went out and bought me an ultra light rod to keep in the boat. The megabass dropshot rod with 17 lb braid that I was using that day did the trick, but little bit of overkill. I see you also are on the Fayette forum as well. Maybe you can post some of your reports there from time to time. Also I fish alone most of the time and maybe we could hook up and share a day together when your buddy is not with you.

Might just be worth a winter trip to Fayette. Solid post and some nice bass. Good job Vogey. Side Note: TomRom: Would be interesting to here what the Lake Biologist has to say about the winter Bluegill! One thing is for certain different patterns occur on a power plant lake compared to a regular lake. Just my two cents.

Chuck...For the bluegill I tried the warm water discharge area...mostly 8-16 feet, a big stretch of the dam 10-25 feet, deeper water trees, areas of deeper water outside the summer spawning areas, one creek channel, and the baffle dyke...quite the mystery.
Tom...Don't hold your breath...those sunfish guys just vanish til spring ! I have been following you discussions on the cast netters & am looking forward to hearing about your meeting & findings. BTW...I have been intrigued by the discussion regarding "shaky heads". So, I bought a few and tried them off & on all day with no luck. Went back to my standard t-rig 7.5" Culprit & started tearing em up...???
Curtis...There were lots of Kayakers out yesterday, and every time I see one I think of you. I wish you would make a trip there to see if you can locate some wintertime sunfish...with your expertise, anything is possible. But if you cant, the bass bite is picking up & that can be a blast as well...

Vogey: I will let you know the next time that I know I will be fishing Fayette. It is usually towards the end of the week when I do the most of my fishing.

Please let us know what the Lake Biologist has to say! That would be interesting what his take is on the location of those Bluegill.
