My dad has booked a trip to Texoma with one of the guides for the end of January. What is the fishing like in the winter for stripers? I bass fish and have never been striper fishing.

I'm sure some guides will repsond here at some point but you can do a search on here for Texoma and/or Texoma stripers and see what spits back. also the Lake Texoma Fishing Forum on Facebook has some good posts from guides and mortals from around the lake.

Y'all should have a fun trip.

I know one of the guides and he told me it's very slow right now. The TPWD fishing report for Texoma also said fishing has slowed quite a bit. It was on fire and typically it's very good in the winter. I personally would wait until it picks back up a little. If we can get some cold weather, you might be in luck.

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

It really depends on who you’re going with and how you want to fish for them fishing is right on par for January for the way I like to fish and if you are an avid bass fisherman you will enjoy it because we will chunk and wind jigs and flukes but for the dead stick bite guess it has really slowed down but it’s not my cup of tea anyways plus the best time to go fish is when you can :-)
